“We are not allowed to apologize for something that has been given to us for free.” ~ Anonymous

Something that fascinates me is how families with a long line of heritage function. There is a dynamic that takes place that is sometimes missed by the naked eye. It’s the pressure that is generated when the younger generation begins to get involved in what the older generation is doing. It occurs when the new generation is recognizing the inheritance they are receiving.

A transition takes place, and this pressure gives them an incredible opportunity. This pressure will cause them to find their own identity and reveal what that identity is. If their identity is healthy, they will prosper and increase upon the inheritance they have received.

Starved-Breaking Free
Written by Nancy Alcorn
starveThe Bible is very clear that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that you should honor God with your body (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Self-starvation, induced vomiting, and gluttony are direct violations of that commandment.  Yet knowing that these behaviors are sin should not bring condemnation, but hope! You should be encouraged by the promise that Jesus died for your sins so that you may live free from all bondage. Th e fact that Jesus died for your freedom is evidence that freedom does exist!

You can go from treatment center to treatment center and excel at the ability to “cope” with an eating disorder, or you can pursue the promise of transformation through Jesus Christ. You can continue living as a victim to your diagnosis, or you can choose to believe what God says about freedom: “Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

Police in Bangladesh Torture Pastor, Two Others

Local Muslim leaders prompt officers to arrest, abuse evangelistic team.DHAKA, Bangladesh, August 4 (Compass Direct News) - At the urging of local Muslim leaders, police in western Bangladesh have tortured a pastor and two other Christians for legally proclaiming Christ.

Habibur Rahman, 45, pastor of Boalia Spiritual Church (Boalia Ruhani Jamat) in Boalia in Cuadanga district, 220 kilometers (136 miles) west of Dhaka, said he was about to meet with 11 others for a monthly meeting on evangelism at 8 p.m. on June 8 when local police stormed in and seized him and Zahid Hassan, 25, and a 40-year-old Christian identified only as Fazlur.

The first question the police commander asked him, Rahman said, was, "Why did you become Christian?"

"Using a lot of filthy words, he charged me that I was teaching the Bible and converting people to Christianity in this area," the pastor told Compass.

In May, a police patrol chief had threatened to seize him at a church meeting but was misinformed about the time it would take place, Rahman said.

The commander who seized him and the two others was a sub-inspector with the name Khaleque on his badge, Rahman said. Police dragged them to a nearby parked vehicle and transported them to Shamvunagar police camp.

"Police told us, ‘We will teach you in the camp how to forget your Christ,' while dragging us to the vehicle," said Rahman.

Police blindfolded them after reaching the camp and took them to three separate rooms.

"I heard blood-curdling scream from other rooms," Rahman said. "I was sitting on the floor blindfolded. I could not understand what was happening around me. Later several police came to me and one of them kicked me on the back of my head, and my head ricocheted off the wall. They also kicked my waist."

Now Is the Time to Demonstrate the Kingdom
Wednesday, 05 August 2009 11:26    | Written by Dr. Bill Hamon
Bill HamonThis is the time, more than ever, for the saints of God to get free of hindrances, bad habits and limitations that keep us from our destiny.  Knowing Christ Jesus only as Savior, Healer, Baptizer, Provider, etc. is no longer sufficient!  We must now know Him also as King of kings, Lord of our lives and the Commander of the Lord's army.

We get healed, matured, set free and equipped so that we can take the gospel of the Kingdom to a world that needs a demonstration of the lordship of Christ.  The gifts of the Spirit are not toys for the saints to play with in church.  They are mighty weapons of war!  God has provided them so we can take territories and nations and disciple people into a full knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Church, we’ve got to quit playing around and get serious!  Let’s not bury our talent in the ground out of fear.  Jesus commands us to occupy until He comes!

According to missions experts nearly 40% of the world’s population has never heard the gospel of salvation that Jesus Christ died for their sins and was resurrected that all who believe on Him may have eternal life.  A much greater number has not seen a demonstration of the gospel of the Kingdom, that Christ paid the price for our physical and emotional healing, deliverance from every evil power and bondage, and everything we need for life and godliness, on earth today (Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24).
