CALLING ALL OF GOD'S ARMYPresident Obama's recent comments in early April, stating that America is not a Christian nation but a "nation of citizens" warrants a moral outrage by Christians, citizens, and every resident of this nation. In 2007, he further said , "Whatever we once were, we're no longer a Christian nation....We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers." We are appalled at Mr. Obama's proclamation and we feel it is time for the Church to wake up, to arise, and to declare that this IS a Christian nation! Shockingly, many do not know the Christian heritage of our country. It cannot be reiterated enough to both the young and old generations that America was not only founded on Christian principles, but that the US is 'one nation under God' as directed on the back of our currency. America's founding fathers were certainly Christian and much of our laws, in fact, were built around the Ten Commandments. Even our schools were originally established so that children could learn to read and recite the Bible. It is only until recently that the Bible has been taken out of the public schools. Further, the Supreme Court ruled in 1892 that America "is a Christian nation." This was followed in 1931 by a subsequent ruling that Americans are a '"Christian people". The US will continue to stand as a Christian nation, and today the Church is strong at 77% according to a recent 2009 Gallop Poll. Thus, we feel that Obama's comments deserve some accountability. We are calling for a national campaign to be launched April 30 through the end of this year, called the "One Nation Under God Campaign". This day is the official day proclaimed by Abraham Lincoln (Obama's hero) as a day of national humiliation, prayer and and fasting. Thomas Jefferson once stated, "all tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." The Greek word for tyranny is tyrannos, rooted in the base word kurios which means supreme ruler or chief. Tyranny is simply the abuse of power by a chief ruler. The Webster diction says it is the absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution. While President Obama is our commander in chief of this nation, and we are to pray for him, he is not our Saviour, image consultant, or anything otherwise to the nations. For we cannot allow the commander in chief of this nation to dictate and rule not only over the Supreme Court,and the Laws and Constitution, but over the Highest Court of our land. A court that seats the King of Kings, Lord of Hosts, and Chief Justice. America's conscience is under trial. For we are "One Nation under God." ABOUT THE ONE NATION UNDER GOD CAMPAIGNWe are calling all Christians, citizens, and residents of moral conscience alike to participate in the One Nation Under God Campaign. All that is needed are red, white, or blue envelopes. Colored envelopes can be purchased at Kinkos or at party supply stores. By all means, please host envelope parties, inviting your friends, family, church members or members from your local civic group to participate. You can also pass the word around on Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter by linking to this site http://www.passionculture.net. On the front of the envelope write: President Barack Obama On the back of the envelope have it state:
We would prefer that the back be handwritten as it is a powerful declaration. If you would like to include an optional letter on the inside, please include excerpts from the Abraham Lincoln Proclamation. It could be typed and say something like this: Date President Barack Obama
On April 30, 1863, your hero Abraham Lincoln, proclaimed a day of national humiliation, prayer and and fasting. While 77% of Americans are Christians, we feel hat you have forgotten God by the public statements you have made to this nation and to the world. In Abraham Lincoln's own words please hear part of his Proclamation: "We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! " We do not cry out for change, we cry out for mercy. May God have mercy on this land. ... The great apostasy is here. I don't know if it's time to be asking for God's mercy, but rather His judgements. I'm sorry, I want my Bridegroom, and He'll get here sooner if we're praying for judgement to fall on this nation. In that case, we have nothing to fear. Just like in Egypt, the judgements aren't for us, and we will be protected. |

The bridegroom is coming back, but in the meantime, we are to do justice and love mercy. We can not stand before God and say we did nothing in this hour. |

... Our freedom of religion is available to us now because our forefathers wanted to worship as they believed, not how they were told. That freedom is constantly being tried, especially in this season. In being politically correct we are faced with losing what we believe and the ability to believe it. Without that ability we are simply facing Communism which will only lead to martyrdom. Are you ready for that on this soil? I don't think I am nor are many Christians here in the western world. That is one of many reasons I love this campaign. We must fight for the truth to prevail! |

... I am not in agreement w the statements made concerning President Obama. The former President Thomas Jefferson did not even believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It is time for the church to research the facts of the foundation of this nation. We are called to be lights in darkness and to pray for the conversion of those who are not saved. There is no universal governmental church in the USA. We as Christians can no longer be bound by tradition and religion. It is time for a radical transformation in the church whereby the church can reach out to those who are lost in the Spirit of love. According to the history books President Jefferson and President Benjamin Franklin publically confessed that they were not Christians according to the Word of God. President Jefferson even had his own bible. The focus should be on the person of Jesus Christ and not the founding fathers of this nation. All of the founding fathers were certainly not Christians. To think that all of the founding fathers of the USA were Christians is simply error. The work of Jesus Christ is much bigger than simply what goes on in the USA. The focus is truly off. We as Christians should be praying for our leaders instead of standing in judgement on a man that just recently became president of the USA. His relationship with Christ can change for the better and so can all of ours. I am apalled at the ignorance that has been displayed by Christians concerning the history of the USA. President Jefferson also had a liason with a 14 year old girl by the name of Sally Hemmings. History doc*ments that he sired 5 children from his slave child. Do you call that Christian activity? But yet still God is merciful. There is no where in the American const*tution that doc*ments that this is a Christian nation. You need to read the book "Myth of a Christian Nation" written by Greg Boyd. The Bible is full of situations in which Christians were under the rule of those who were non-Christians. A Christian nation would imply that all of us are professing, confessing and living up to the standards of Jesus Christ. Certainly that is not going on today in the USA where divorce rates are at least 50% (and higher in the church), all types of sexual promiscuity is prevalent on the TV and the church has become glamorized by Hollywood. This is a travesty. Saying that you are a Christian and actually living the life of a Christian are two different things. Let's place our values and priorities on the things that are important. That is focus on Jesus Christ and not President Barack Obama. The job of the church is to win souls for Christ and show love to all people so that they may come to know Jesus Christ in the pardon of their sins. Senator McCain, a great hero had a life scandalized by divorce and adultery, so did King David but God is merciful. It is time for the self righteousness and bigotry of the church to end and time for the love of Christ to stand strong and tall. Let's bring the Lord Jesus back to the center of the conversation. Certainly no one can stop the divine will and destiny of God. Do not underestimate the power of the Holy Ghost. This type of focus on government as if God is powerless to intervene is a waste of precious time. |
