The account in Acts 5 is brief and begs a lot of questions about what was going on.  After praying about it, I would like to give this analysis.

In Acts 2 and 4 it states the believers sold what they had and gave the amount to the apostles for distribution as the church had need.  This spawned rumors that the apostles were just in it for the money and anyone who contributed to the ministry was being duped.  We know that Satan filled the hearts of Ananias and Sapphira to lie to the Holy Ghost.  This was discerned by Peter when they came to test the apostles in this matter.  When God struck them dead, he was validating the apostles' ministry and declaring that the men were honest and what they were doing was of God.  The stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

It would be interesting to evaluate others who were struck dead in the Bible to see any similarities.

The Tomb is the Womb

The gospel goes around the earth from east to west like the sun.  This is called the day of the Lord as described in Psalm 110:

When coming to the understanding of the simplicity of a struggle it is easily obtained when testing the results. However, when applying the results to life one forgets how the simplicity of a struggle is made complex through emotion and human nature. 

Which is what I have done. Learning why hope is important was the easy part. The testing of what I have learned that has followed, not so much. It's amazing how much God has root out of me and things that are tied to hope within me. Talking with a few of my friends I have discovered that anything that I have deemed unnecessary (consciously or subconsciously) that I shouldn't burden others(God) with a silly desire. I pretty much was saying, God I will let you provide for me but I won't let you show me your love for me because I am not worth the trouble. Who knew discovering my worth to be loved is all through learning how to hope?

Looking at my past i noticed this has been a pattern for me in my life. I have put stumbling blocks in front of myself with others and God. Twisting the qualities God installed in me like my independent nature, humbling and obedient attitude, discernment and wisdom to mask my emotions and fear. This process has been an inner struggle; breaking mind sets, changing behavior and overcoming fears. I know this inner battle is worth the fight even though this is a volunerable time in my life because God never fails me I know the outcome is worth it. I choose to put my hope in God knowing that I am worth being loved because of His ultimate act of service. (John 3:16)

As read on my last blog I was going to be condensing some of the areas of the website just so we can make updates easier and to keep up.

One of those areas is the homepage we made it more of a blog style with feature home page so every time a new article from all column and sections is post it on the site you will see it on the homepage, I think this will help guide everyone to the latest article and stories of the site without going through a bunch of links and also give our homepage a cleaner look!

I have had the 2 craziest month ever!

First my wrist gets injury and I was able to use the computer for 4 weeks! I am a graphic/web designer this was not good. after that I was so behind with work I though I will never get done. So I have been out of the Passion Culture seen for a while I am very sorry. :(

I do have come to ask for help, we need volunteers for this site, we make no money from this site everything is free, but we need some help so if you are a web designer, artist, writer, reporter, musician or anyone that thinks you could help us move forward and grow Passion Culture please contact me at jorge@passionculture.net - I would really appreciate the help. I am going to condense come of the areas of the website so we can have more updates regularly. Passion Culture is not going anywhere, help us! God has a purpose for this site and I will push and push until is fulfill.

Father God,

awaken, refuel, and re-birth the dreams on the inside of us. I thank you that you have called us to be a mouthpiece and a voice.  Help us to look past the now and press forward to the tomorrow.I thank for a new walk.

This weekend was an awesome time with the Lord! There was a guest minister and the whole church was encouraged, set free, and infused with hope. After the amazing friday and saturday meetings Sunday was a day of rejoicing of what God has done, But now its monday. The day of walking out the restoration in our lives. How many of us will hold onto the freedom and how many of us will agree again with the lies of the enemy? As we looked at those goliaths and cut there heads off how many of us are now longing for them to rise again because they are comfortable and familiar? I pray that we all stand in the truth of God that we are free! The theme of many of peoples decorations were "I'm coming Out, I want the world to see!" that they are coming out and stepping into who God has truly made them to be. Will they really come out or will they revert back into the shells of comfort and bondage? One thing I know is that God is a Big God and he can sustain us and will bring us through! I believe that today people are felling the freedom in their lives and they will continue on that journey that God started them on this last weekend. My fervent prayer is that they will look to God when the enemy tries to whisper lies in their ears, and remember the truth that God has spoken over them!

On one weekend in April, I, along with my fiancee Cheryl, drove from our hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Kansas City. We were going to KC because Cheryl has been battling breast cancer for several years now, and had taken a turn for the worst. Much prayer and intercession had gone on for Cheryl, but she hadn't been healed. Faced with new rounds of radiation and chemo, Cheryl needed a miracle and we'd heard good things about two very different churches in KC where God is moving.

We arrived late Friday night. The next morning, as early as possible, we drove the three miles from our Motel 6 to the International House of Prayer - Mission Base. We spent some time in a healing room getting prayed for by two young women. It was nice. Then we were told to come back for the noontime seesion in a regular prayer room. After lunch at a Jamaican place called Tropical Palms, we came back and we got prayed for -- and prophecied over -- by a couple of women who were a little older and a little bolder.

When we started to leave the Prayer Room we saw a sign that said that it was the soaking area for the Prophecy Rooms. We couldn't resist this. We got on the sign-up list and then we waited... and waited... and waited... I think we were there for about 3 hours.

For those of you who've read my inaugural post, "Hallelujah Street," I want you to know that it's been a struggle for me in the weeks since to think of something to write that will fit the theme that I outlined in that first blog post. The concept of this blog becoming the raw material from which a book, "Living On Hallelujah Street" would emerge has been a bit daunting. My original concept was to mix testimony with teaching, so the book would be part biography and part Bible-teaching.

I still may use that concept as a touchstone, but I also want to talk about what I see and feel and hear going on today in my life, in the world, and in the Body of Christ.

Within the past six months, Holy Spirit has revealed 3 people in my life that have been close to me that were operating under a Jezebel spirit.  One of them was my closest friend of almost 15 years.  How's that for right under your nose? 

Needless to say, I was blown away and totally crushed.  I was crushed by the outright lies, slander, gossip and manipulation she was doing about me behind my back.  I was blown away that it took me this long to see it!  After some very serious prayer, fasting and repentance...the healing began.  I began to study how this spirit operates jointly with python and/or leviathian.  This is a deadly combo!  I am beginning to understand a hint of what Elijah felt!  

It has truly been a lesson learned.  I have to say that since I have broken ties with this person, my relationship with the Father has been more intimate, revelation has been more clear, the prophetic word has flown more freely and my other friendships have flourished!  I have also searched my own heart regarding any evidences of this spirit in my life.  How easily we can be deceived because the enemy is so clever!
